Our commitment to making independent home-product guidance usable by as many people as possible.
01. Our commitment
We aim to provide a site that can be perceived, operated and understood across a range of devices and assistive technologies. Accessibility is treated as part of editorial quality.
Our current approach is informed by WCAG 2.1 Level AA principles, while recognising that accessibility work is ongoing rather than a one-time claim.
02. Design and content practices
Pages use semantic headings, landmarks, descriptive links, keyboard-visible focus and text alternatives for meaningful images. Colour is not the only way important meaning is conveyed.
Layouts reflow for small screens and enlarged text. Animation is minimal, and reduced-motion preferences disable smooth movement and transitions.
03. Compatibility
The site is designed for current browsers and common screen readers, keyboard navigation and touch input. Its core reading and navigation functions do not depend on JavaScript.
Very old browsers or unusual combinations of software and settings may present content differently, although the underlying page structure should remain available.
04. Known limitations
Generated editorial photographs may contain visual detail that cannot be captured completely in concise alternative text. We describe their editorial purpose rather than every object.

05. Requesting assistance
If a page, link or document is difficult to use, email or phone us and identify the page and the task you were trying to complete.
We can discuss a practical alternative format for our own content where reasonably possible. Please avoid sending sensitive personal or medical details.
